Our Mission

Boys Hope Girls Hope helps academically capable and motivated children-in-need meet their full potential and become men and women for others by providing value-centered homes, opportunities, and education through college.

Our Value Statement:

Founded on the belief that a loving God cares about the life of every individual, Boys Hope Girls Hope acts in accordance with the following values:

  • Education is critical to reaching one’s full potential.
  • Spirituality and an active faith are essential elements of healthy personal development.
  • Children have the innate capacity to transcend their circumstances if given a safe environment, opportunities, and loving support.
  • Integrity, honesty, respect, a willingness to love, and service to others are important measures of personal success.
  • Individuals are responsible for their own destinies and actions, and all children deserve the guidance, support, and opportunity to choose a path toward reaching their full potential.
  • Respect for the dignity, value, unique perspectives and talent of every individual is the foundation of positive social and emotional development, in addition to strong and vibrant communities.

H-O-P-E

Homes:
We offer valued-centered, family-style homes in residential neighborhoods. Our scholars follow a structured daily schedule that includes personal hygiene, chores, meals, school and study time, play, reflection, and community building activities.

Opportunities:
Scholars are given opportunities to nurture and develop their intellectual, physical, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being so they grow into mature, healthy, and educated ‘persons for others’. Boys Hope Girls Hope offers extracurricular activities, enrichment outings, community service projects, structured study times, tutoring and counseling, weekend worship, jobs, internships, and more.

Parenting:
Our residential counselors offer positive parenting to our kids and participatory partnership with their families. We arrange regularly scheduled family visits, hold case conferences as needed, and any major decision-making is done with the familiesĀ and involve the families in any major decision making..

Education:
One of the major goals for our scholars is that they complete a college education. To help them reach this goal, they attend quality college-preparatory schools and receive training in organization, study habits, and life skills. Our scholars currently attend St. Xavier, Roger Bacon, Purcell Marian and St. Ursula Academy High Schools. Elementary Schools include St. Bartholomew Consolidated School, St. Vivian, St. Mary’s, Hyde Park, and St. Ursula Villa.
